We were VERY short on volunteers. A special thanks to Lena Craft and Beth Orodorff once again for their gallant efforts to try to get multiple cars and give out this important literature. Of the 6 arrests, there were two drunk in public, and one a wanted hit-and-run from Maryland. For some reason Maryland police wouldn't come to apprehend the person even as they were working the crime scene. The suspect was subsequently released. There was also one drunk dad with two small children in the car. He was arrested for child endangerment.

Thanks to volunteers, Beth, Dika, Charlotte, Laurie, Susan Burkley, Cynthia, David, & Dede, & Kristen, & Clinton Burt, & Susan Cleveland, to all who baked, and for Beth's delicious sandwiches.

This is what we like to see. No arrests. However, while the checkpoint was in operation, a Sterling man was apparently run over and killed by his own car following a parking lot collision in which he got out to check on the other driver and forgot to put his car in Park and set the emergency brake.
